Okay, I know I haven't been around that often...and I want to apolegize. But on a lighter note, I have a question for anyone to answer...admin, mods, or even the players of the game.
Ok, so just out of curiousity, what is the deal with the Dryads, Naiads, Nymphs, and Talking Trees? Like, I know what a dryad is...I think. Aren't they female spirits of trees that take the shape of a human woman, and can leave the tree they are "connected" to? And the same with Naiads...except that they're "connected" to a water source instead of a tree...right? But what is the deal with Nymphs? And what does it mean in the books about the trees actually moving...not being dryads, but talking trees? And what are hamadryads??? I am soooo confuzed. : \

OK - so I am no expert at this, but this is what I think of Nymphs. Maybe this will help though? here.I always thought Nymphs were like tricky fairies. *shrug*

Yes, that did help...thanks But one thing more...are the hamadryads considered to be the Talking Trees?

That's really interesting! I always thoughts Nymphs were just an name of a sub group of faries...I never thought they were connected to trees and that sort of stuff. Well, you learn something new everyday.

Well, that pretty much hits the nail on the head. Narieds can get confused with Nereids. They are different so don't get them mixed up.
Nareids-Spirits of a FRESH water source (river, lake, etc.)
Nereids-Spirits of a SALT water source (ocean)
I am a geek for Greek Mythology, thanks to the book "The Lightning Thief"
