Lucy raked her fingers through her mass of thick hair. A yawn escaped through her slightly parted lips, bouncing off the walls of the corridor. It might have seemed strange for the Queen to be standing in the hall by herself, but she had a motive. This wasn't just any long winding corridor. No. It was the one that led to the Library, the one place where her older sister spent her days lately. There was something up with Susan and Lucy didn't know what was troubling her sister. It all started after Peter and Susan left from Calormen. Lucy didn't accompany her siblings on the trip. No. She and Edmund had to old down the fort in Narnia, Edmund attending most of the council meetings while Lucy went around town to talk to local Narnians. Lucy loved it. She was a outgoing person herself, maybe a little childish at times. That was alright, though. People respected her for it. Lucy was still young...well compared to her siblings.
Her small frame leaned into the walls of the castle with arms crossed at the chest. Blue orbs stared into the window of the library, watching her sister flip through a novel. Lucy was really worried for Susan. She really wanted to know what was eating at her. No one told Lucy anything, though. She hated that. Oh Aslan, yes she did. Just because she was the youngest didn't mean that she should be treated differently. Sighing at her thoughts, Lucy pushed herself off from the wall, twirling swiftly on her heels to head toward the kitchens. She needed to leave soon, but not without something to eat first. Lucy didn't like starting her day on an empty stomach, but she did when she was in a hurry. Not this morning. Lucy hated being rushed. It made her flustered.
Hearing a the sound of Peter's voice brought Lucy back to reality. What was wrong? She was about to head over that way until a black kitten came bounding down to her. "Lucy! We must go noooooooow!" Tatta's hushed voice sounded, the kitten literary jumping into the safety of the Queen's arm. Lucy had taken in the stray kitten from the streets of Calormen just months ago. It was about to be mauled by bigger ones and when it talked, Lucy couldn't help but bring it back to its home country. "What is it Tatta?" Lucy questioned heading in the opposite way of Peter's bedroom. Tatta just snickered lightly before playing with the strings on Lucy's dress. For a kitten she got into so much trouble. "I might have done something bad." Lucy groaned as she quickly grabbed her broken dagger from one of the tables. "I swear to Aslan Tatta, that Peter is going to strangle you next time he sees you. How could you tear through his pants again!"
The conversation had stopped, the kitten slowly following behind the queen as she made her way through the streets. It was a nice day, maybe a few clouds in the sky, but nice none the less. When she made it to her destination, Lucy watched as the kitten pounced forward ahead of her, hopping onto the wooden counter in the shop. Lucy had to get her dagger fixed after being chipped by Peter and Edmund's foolish games. "Excuse me? Is there anyone around?" Lucy called out staring at the black kitten with stern eyes as Tatta started to snoop around the shop.
